Your first visit takes a minute: a username (one is filled in for you), whether you are a man or a woman, your birthdate — you must be 18 — and an email, where a six-digit code arrives. No password. After that it is one tap: text, with voice and video right next to it, and nobody sees or hears you unless you choose that.

Do I need an account?
Yes, a free one. It asks for a username (we suggest one), whether you are a man or a woman, your birthdate and an email. No password — we email you a six-digit code. The birthdate is how we keep the site 18+, and your age and gender are shown to the people you are matched with. The email is used only to sign you in.
Do I have to use my camera?
Never. Text, voice (microphone only) and video are three separate buttons, and you choose every time you start a chat.
Is it free?
Yes, completely. There is no paid tier and nothing behind a paywall.
What is the difference between random chat and rooms?
Random chat is one-to-one with a stranger. Rooms are public and about one topic — music, gaming, football and more — so you talk with a group.
Are my messages saved?
No. Messages pass between browsers and are never written down. When a chat ends they are gone, on our side too.
What do you store about me?
Your account: username, email, gender and birthdate, plus when it was created and each sign-in. Messages in random chat and rooms are never stored. A photo or file you share in a chat sits on our server only until it has been viewed as many times as you allowed — 24 hours at most — and is then deleted.
